Cimarron River

300 CFS - Summer Conditions
Owl Creek Pass is open and the forks are offering excellent angling opportunities! The West, Middle and East Forks are all flowwing clear and even the tailwater section is quite fishable. Attractor patterns, drakes, caddis and small streamers are all producing results and the cahills bellow the dam are starting to emerge. Another great destination in the Cimarrons are the numerous stillwaters. Access is easy and there are native cutthroats to be found everywhere! Check in with the shop for up for the latest info for the Big Blue Wilderness.

Uncompahgre River

Current flows = 500 cfs. Summer Conditions.
Flows out of the dam are stabilized and fishing on the Uncompahgre has been picking up as a result. This time of year, may fly emergers and hoppers can be quite productive, while traditional patterns for tailwater fishing, like midges/scuds continue to turn heads. With these flows out of the dam, you need to be working the slack water and fishing the seams with a good technique so the fish can get a nice look at your bugs. Dont forget the last hour before sunset, when all the crowds have left, to skate a Caddis or work a light cahill tight to the banks!

Gunnison River

1150 CFS - Summer Conditions
With the late start on the Stone Fly Hatch due to the high flows this season, the fish are adjusted back to a normal routine and the fishing has been excellent. The "Gunny" is the place to catch the big ones and with the right presentation, you might just see one on the end of your line! Hopper fishing is coming on as well as great PMD hatches mixed with consistant evening caddis. You can alway fish a tight drift near the banks to pick up fish, but as tempatures get warmer, dont forget to fish the oxygenated riffles shallow with to learn where the big rainbows hang out!

San Miguel River

1000 CFS - Summer Conditions
The Miguel has been a challenge to fish this spring with a tremendous snow pack in the mountains staging for a big run-off year. Cooler tempetures in the high country this Spring have brought out the anglers on the upper sections of the Miguel. while the lower portions have continued to be dominated by higher flows and whitewater rafters. Try fishing the upper sections with your traditional rubber leg attractor patterns, hoppers and terrestrials. As always with higher flows, find the slack water and high stick it for the best presentation possible.
